The Orphan Care Afghanistan Welfare Organization established small businesses for 5 additional orphan families in Kunar Province in the fields of grocery shops, mobile accessories, Engine oil, Lubrication service, and tailoring, after conducting detailed surveys and providing the necessary guidance. The businesses were then officially handed over to the beneficiaries.
For these businesses, each eligible person received approximately 25,000 AFN as Qard Hasanah (interest-free loan). The beneficiaries will gradually repay the loan by depositing between 1,500 to 2,000 AFN every month into the Orphan Care Afghanistan Welfare Organization’s bank account until the full amount is repaid.
With this latest distribution, the number of small businesses established in Kunar Province has reached 23, while the total number of businesses created through this program across the country has reached 268.
