The Orphan Care Afghanistan Welfare Organization has established small businesses for 14 more orphan families in Kabul Province. These businesses include grocery shops, mobile accessories, chips and burger carts, vegetable carts, cooking oil sales, mobile services, brokerage (bunjara simsari), and tailoring. They were set up after a thorough survey and necessary training, and were handed over to the beneficiaries.
For these businesses, each eligible individual received approximately 25,000 Afghanis as a Qard Hasan (interest-free loan). The beneficiaries will gradually repay this amount by depositing between 1,500 to 2,000 Afghanis each month into the bank account of the Orphan Care Afghanistan Welfare Organization until the loan is fully settled.
With this, the total number of small businesses established has reached 236 families, and the program continues.
