The Orphan care Afghanistan welfare organization has established small businesses for 16 more orphan families in Kabul Province. These businesses include bicycle repair, bakery, ice cream shop, dairy shop, grocery shop, vegetable cart, and tailoring. They were created after a detailed survey and necessary orientation, and were handed over to the beneficiaries.
For these businesses, each eligible individual received approximately 25,000 Afghanis as a Qard Hasan (interest-free loan). The beneficiaries will gradually repay this amount by depositing between 1,500 to 2,000 Afghanis each month into the bank account of the Orphan care Afghanistan welfare organization until the loan is fully settled.
With this addition, the total number of small businesses established has reached 252 families, and the program continues on an ongoing basis.
