The Orphan Care Afghanistan Welfare Organization has established small businesses for 7 more orphan families in Nangarhar Province. These businesses include grocery shops, mobile accessories, chips and burger carts, and tailoring. They were set up after a thorough survey and necessary training, and were handed over to the beneficiaries.
For these businesses, each eligible individual received approximately 25,000 Afghanis as a Qard Hasan (interest-free loan). The beneficiaries will gradually repay this amount by depositing between 1,500 to 2,000 Afghanis each month into the bank account of the Afghanistan Orphan Care Charity Foundation until the loan is fully settled.
With this, the number of small businesses in Nangarhar Province has reached 47, and across the country, the total number of businesses established through this program has reached 222. It is worth mentioning that, so far, 20 businesses in Nangarhar have successfully completed this process, fully repaid their loans, and are now continuing their work independently.
