OCAWO Hosts Successful Fundraising Event at Masjid Vaughan to Support Orphans in Afghanistan

Toronto, Canada – March 23, 2025 – Orphan Care Afghanistan Welfare Organization (OCAWO), in collaboration with Masjid Vaughan, held a fundraising event during Ramadan, urging the community to contribute towards supporting orphans and vulnerable individuals in Afghanistan.

The event, which took place after the Farz prayers, was part of OCAWO’s ongoing partnership with Masjid Vaughan. Volunteers and local community leaders delivered passionate speeches, emphasizing the importance of Sadaqa and the blessings of giving during Ramadan. They highlighted OCAWO’s 100% donation policy, assuring attendees that every dollar donated would directly benefit orphans and families in need.

Community members responded generously, making contributions to support food distribution, education, drinking water facilities, plantation efforts, and sustainable livelihood programs for orphans and underprivileged communities in Afghanistan. The Masjid administration and local leaders played a key role in encouraging participation, reinforcing the spirit of solidarity and compassion.

While the final report on the total funds raised will be provided upon project completion, the event demonstrated the unwavering commitment of the community towards helping orphans and vulnerable families. OCAWO expressed gratitude to all donors and reaffirmed its mission to continue supporting orphans through sustainable initiatives.
