CLEAN DRINKING WATER

This program is implemented in areas where people lack access to clean drinking water, often traveling long distances to find it. The Afghanistan Orphan Care Charity first conducts a survey to assess the need for clean water, then holds meetings with the local villagers to determine their participation in the construction of a well. A committee is then formed to contract a technician, oversee the work, and ensure the quality and progress of the construction. The charity provides financial support and supervision. Once the project is complete, the well is inaugurated with local elders, and a written commitment is obtained from the committee and villagers to maintain the well and protect the designated public area.
