KABUL, Afghanistan – The Orphan Care Afghanistan Welfare Organization (OCAWO) celebrated the graduation of 33 students from its six-month vocational training program in a ceremony held in Kabul province.
The training program, conducted in the 8th district of Kabul, provided comprehensive education in tailoring, mathematics, English language, and Islamic studies. Over the six-month period, students received extensive training in tailoring along with foundational education in the other subjects.
The graduation ceremony was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Work and Labor Affairs, local community elders, security personnel, regional volunteers, and other esteemed guests, who collectively expressed their appreciation for the program’s impact.
Mr. Sadiq Safi, the head of OCAWO, highlighted the importance of supporting orphans, stating, “The orphans are those members of society who do not have any guardians, and it is our responsibility to support them in these hard times.”
Mawlawi Faiz, head of skills development at the Ministry of Work and Social Affairs, commended the program and assured continued support from the ministry in the future.
In recognition of their achievements, each student received a complete set of tailoring equipment valued at 4,700 Afghanis at the conclusion of the ceremony.
