Launch of fruit farming survey in Wardak province for the families of orphans.
In an initiative aimed at supporting orphaned families, a fruit farming survey has been launched in Wardak province. This project, spanning Band Chak and Sayed Abad districts, aims to cultivate thousands of fruit-bearing trees this spring. The program, which commenced in 2022, has already seen the distribution of thousands trees to orphan families who have the necessary land and water resources for cultivation.
Orphan Care Afghanistan Welfare Organization (OCAWO) is actively involved in this endeavor. In addition to fruit trees, OCAWO has provided milking cows to orphan families in the province in the past years. Looking ahead, the organization plans to distribute 15 more cows during the upcoming Ramadan this year.
Furthermore, OCAWO is committed to educational support and has established a women’s educational center catering to 400 girls in the same province. This holistic approach seeks to uplift orphaned families by providing them with sustainable means of livelihood and educational opportunities.
